“Pattern to Volume”
Completed during the 2022 Carnegie Mellon Pre-College Architecture program, the Pattern to Volume project took inspiration from a pre-existing pattern and created a dimensional object through various stages of abstraction.
“Something You Can Feel” by Mickalene Thomas served as the existing pattern, chosen for its dynamic use of color and texture. The traced variations of this pattern became the inspiration for the final project design.
Digitally traced and extruded shapes from one trace of the original pattern, and combined the volumes into one object. Isometric view of the rendered object, made in Rhino 3D and finalized in Adobe Illustrator.
