Scenic Design for Something Rotten!
Completed during the Applied Design and Technical Theatre class for the Horace Mann Theatre Department’s 2023 spring musical. This musical, big and theatrical, operates on a large scale and requires setting in many locations. As the story takes place in Elizabethan London and centers around Renaissance Theatre, the scenic design for this production utilizes a stage reminiscent of the Globe Theater as its focal point, with six movable Tudor-inspired pieces. These mobile elements allow for space to be cleared during full-cast moments and locations to be communicated during more isolated moments.
Directed by Benjamin Posner, lighting design by Devan Joseph, under technical direction by Caitie Miller.
